ChartPilot Privacy Policy
**Effective: 4 August 2026**
ChartPilot is a Chrome extension for futures traders on the TopstepX
platform. It is built local-first: your data stays on your device unless
you turn on sync.
## What we collect
- **Account details** — an email address and password, only if you create
a sync account.
- **Journal data** — trade records and screenshots of your TopstepX
trading window, created as you trade.
- **Settings** — your preferences, saved on your device.
- **Payment details** — subscriptions are processed by our payment
provider. We never see or store your card details.
## How we use it
- Journal data and settings exist to show you your own trade journal. By
default they are stored only on your device.
- If you enable sync (it is off by default), your journal is copied to
your private cloud space so you can back it up. It is encrypted in
transit and accessible only to your account.
- Your email address is used to sign you in and for essential service
messages.
## What we don't do
- We don't sell your data.
- We don't run ads or third-party analytics.
- We don't track your browsing. ChartPilot only operates on topstepx.com.
## Sharing
We share data only with the service providers that run ChartPilot (cloud
hosting, payment processing), only so they can provide the service — or
if the law requires it.
## Retention and deletion
Your data stays until you delete it. **Settings → Delete all data**
removes everything on your device and, if sync was on, in the cloud. To
delete your account entirely, email us.
## Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example the UK, EU, Canada, or Mexico),
you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of
your data. Email us and we'll handle it. You can also complain to your
local data protection authority.
